>Top of the Polls

Tonight Comres have released a poll that reads CON 35; LD 26; LAB 26. This may seem like a bump back to Earth after some of the heady heights of earlier in the week, but I think it shows a more genuine, deep rooted shift towards the Liberal Democrats. If the Liberal Democrats can be consistently polling above 25% that is an exceptional achievement and one that shows a strong rejection of the two old parties. Cameron and Brown have tried to dismiss the Liberal Democrat’s popularity as a unrepresentative poll boost just because they deigned to allow us a fair platform in the debates. That argument, like many they advocates beginning to look weaker by the day.

*It is worth noting that the fieldwork used by Comres for this poll is older than that in the rest of the days polls which indicate higher levels of support for the Liberal Democrats.
