>General Election Time

All the parties are now gearing up the upcoming General Election in May. Many predict this will be one of the most closely fought and interesting elections for many years. Over in America, it was clear the key role that new media and social networking played in the election of President Obama. Will something similar happen here in 2010. It is my opinion that new media is more critical in politics that it has ever been. With growing frustration and disengagement in the political process, particularly from young people, audio recordings, videos, blogs, twitterfeeeds and the like will be vital in engaging voters.

The next general election will be decided in the blogosphere as much as it will on the streets of the UK. It’s time for politics to log in.
